The Coleman County Electric Cooperatives
Scholarship Award Rules


Purpose

The Coleman County Electric Cooperative provides financial assistance for qualified individuals who are seeking an institution of higher education.


Eligibility

The scholarship is available to an entering freshmen college, technical school, or university student in the State of Texas, who is a child of a member, or child of a grandparent who is a member, or child of a legal guardian who is a member of Coleman County Electric Cooperative. The applicant must be living with the active member. The applicant must be a senior enrolled in a high school residing within the Coleman County Electric Cooperative service area. The schools are Ballinger, Coleman, Miles, Novice, Panther Creek, Santa Anna, and Winters ISD.


The Application

Applications are available at Coleman County Electric Cooperative, Inc, located at 3300 N Hwy 84 Coleman, Texas 76834. Contact Tony Williams at 325-625-2128 for any questions concerning the applications. The application must be completed in its entirety. The application must be printed or typed. Be sure to sign and date the end of the application, student's signature and parent's signature with the date. All applications must be turned into the cooperatives office no later than May 25th


The Drawing

The eligible applicants will be chosen by a drawing to be held in July at the cooperatives annual meeting. There will be seven separate drawings, one for each school listed in the Cooperatives service area.


The Scholarship

The scholarship is $500.00 payable to the qualifying school once the recipient has provided the cooperative with a certification of enrollment from the office of the registrar showing proof as a full time student. The scholarship will be made payable to the school's financial aid or business office, but distributed to the recipient.


Conception of the Scholarship

The scholarship was conceived: November 27, 2007 at the monthly board meeting by the Coleman County Electric Cooperatives Board of Directors and GM Roland Witt.
